Details

The organizers are pleased to invite submissions from graduate students for the Modern Philosophy Graduate Workshop, to be held in person at UC San Diego on May 19th and 20th, 2022. Depending on the Covid-19 situation, we may switch to a hybrid or online-only format if necessary. We welcome submissions from all areas of modern philosophy, broadly construed in chronological terms as running from the 16th through the 19th century. This may also include the reception of ancient or medieval philosophy in the modern period. Submissions on underexplored areas of modern philosophy are especially welcome.

If you are interested in submitting a paper for a 30-minute presentation (4,000-6,000 words inclusive of footnotes and bibliography), please send us an abstract (max. 500 words) by February 25th, 2022. Abstract submissions should be prepared for blind review and include a separate PDF attachment with the author’s name, paper title, academic affiliation, and email address. Notifications of acceptance will be sent by March 18th, 2022. Speakers will need to submit their papers to commentators by April 29th, 2022.

Keynote lectures will be given by Marie Jayasekera (CSU Long Beach) and Kristin Primus (UC Berkeley).
