CFP: 'Philosophy of Psychiatry’ [Dossier Revista Culturas Científicas]
Submission deadline: August 31, 2022
Culturas Científicas (e-ISSN: 0719-9856) makes this call for papers for a dossier section[*] intended to its Vol.3 | N°3 (December 2022).
The objective of this Dossier is to compile and publish articles whose main theme is the Philosophy of Psychiatry. It aims to offer a space for discussion to researchers dedicated to this area of study and to be an invitation for others to join this research.
Although not exclusively, the dossier will address the nature of mental illness, the levels of explanation in mental disorders, critical approaches to current nosography from the philosophy of psychiatry, causality in psychiatry, validity and classification of mental disorders, epistemic injustice, among others. The dossier will seek to question the theoretical foundations of the specialty that, although often implicit, have profound implications in daily clinical practice and in our philosophical understanding of it.
Only unpublished manuscripts will be received, either in Spanish or English. The contributions must not be in the evaluation phase of any other journal, must comply with our Guidelines for authors, will be reviewed using the double-blind method (see Editorial Policy) and must be sent using the official portal of the Revista Culturas Científicas, checking the option "Philosophy of Psychiatry Dossier". Otherwise, they will be considered as contributions destined for the miscellaneous section.
The Invited Editors to this dossier have organized a meeting supported by the Working Group on Psychopathology, Philosophy and Humanities of the Society of Neurology, Psychiatry and Neurosurgery (SONEPSYN) to discuss issues related to this call for papers. This meeting will be held in the first semester of 2022 and will be promoted by our official networks.
