Details

The Berlin Language Workshop will bring together scholars working on different topics in the philosophy of language to discuss ongoing research. There will be two keynote talks and six to eight further presentations selected through a call for papers. We’re hoping to host the workshop in Berlin, but we might switch to a hybrid or completely online format, if need be.

Keynote speakers:

Ofra Magidor (University of Oxford)

Fabrizio Cariani (University of Maryland)

Call for papers:

We invite submissions of unpublished work in any area of philosophy of language, including work that intersects with other areas such as epistemology or metaphysics.

Papers should be suitable for a presentation of around 40 minutes and should not exceed 4000 words, excluding bibliography. Papers should be prepared for blind review, and submitted as PDFs with a separate cover sheet that includes: the author’s name, institutional affiliation, contact information, paper title, and word count.

Among those submitting a paper, graduate students and other academics lacking a travel budget are encouraged to apply for a stipend of 500€. If you wish to apply for a stipend, simply note this on the cover sheet.
