Call for Papers (Extended until May 1)

Online Incubator Conference on Philosophy in the Islamic world

hosted by Princeton University

The Princeton Project in Philosophy and Religion (3PR) is pleased to announce a call for papers for a two-day online Incubator Conference on Philosophy in the Islamic world

to be held virtually (on Zoom) on Wed May 25 – Thu May 26, 2022

The Incubator is designed to workshop ideas at an initial stage to facilitate developing them into research papers. Abstracts of early works in progress and by early career academics are especially encouraged.  Each presenter will have 45 minutes: 15-20 minutes to present a new idea followed by a 25-30 minute discussion.

The Incubator is open to submissions on all topics related to Philosophy in the Islamic world. We invite abstracts from many disciplines including philosophy, near eastern and Islamic studies, religion and theology, and history provided that they are intellectually rigorous. The language of presentation for the Incubator conference will be English.

Submissions that bring Islamic thought in conversation with Anglophone philosophy of religion are especially encouraged and will be considered for special joint sessions held in conjunction with the Second Philosophy of Religion Incubator. See the call for papers at pppr.princeton.edu/events for more details on the Second Philosophy of Religion Incubator.

The deadline for submissions is May 1, 2022 with notification by May 10th, 2022. Abstracts (250-300 words) should be submitted to [email protected] along with your full name and current affiliation.
