The Political, Moral, and Legal Philosophy Research Group (POLEMO) at Central European University cordially invites abstract submission for its annual conference, the 4th POLEMO Symposium on 01-02 June 2023 in Vienna, Austria. The Symposium provides a professional, stimulating, and international environment for Ph.D. students and early career researchers in political theory to discuss their works in progress, establish informal networks, and initiate future collaborative research.   Our aim is to bring together a diverse group of scholars for a lively and productive exchange. We thus encourage applications from groups whose backgrounds are under-represented in political theory.
We are happy to announce that our keynote speakers for this year will be:

  •  José L. Martí (Pompeu Fabra University)
  • Eszter Kollár (KU Leuven)

The conference is open to all topics in contemporary analytic political, legal and moral philosophy. A special focus this year lies on contributions to legitimacy of global institutions and theories of global justice.

To apply, please send an extended abstract of no more than 1500 words to [email protected] by 28 February 2023. Abstracts should be in PDF format and prepared for blind review. In the body of your email please include your name, institutional affiliation, and contact information. Submitted abstract should be suitable for a 25-minute presentation, followed by a 20-minute discussion.

Notifications of acceptance will be sent out by 31 March 2023. Conference attendance is free of charge and open to anyone upon registration. Please note that POLEMO is unable to provide financial assistance for applicants. If you have any questions, please contact us at [email protected].
