The workshop New Approaches to Legal Ontology will be held in person on the 26th and 27th April, 2023 at UCC, Cork. The aim of the workshop is to create an interdisciplinary opportunity for legal philosophers and social ontologists to discuss together new approaches to legal ontology. By asking the participants to consider fundamental questions, such as what kind of entities are legal rules, legal organisations, and legal systems? and how can we account for their existence?, the workshop will provide the best forum for the application of general theories of artifacts, group agency, institutional reality, and social (meta)metaphysics to prominent debates within analytic jurisprudence.

Confirmed speakers:
Åsa Burman (Philosophy, Stockholm University)
Kenneth Ehrenberg (Law, University of Surrey)
Ann Whittle (Philosophy, University of Manchester)
Corrado Roversi (Law, University of Bologna)
Teresa Marques (Philosophy, University of Barcelona)
Adam Dyrda (Law, Jagiellonian University)

Submission guidelines: please send your abstract (300-500 words) suitable for a 30-40 mins presentation to [email protected] by February 28 (18.00hrs GMT). Authors of selected abstracts will be notified by the 6th of March.
