Details

2014 marks the 30th anniversary of the publication of Alvin Plantinga's "Advice to Christian Philosophers."  In those past thirty years, Christian philosophy has developed in remarkably diverse and deep ways.  So where do things stand regarding Christians and philosophy today?  What are the ‘live’ questions or concerns for Christian philosophical inquiry?  Our conference draws together a wide array of participants to explore the nature and task of Christian philosophy.

The Society of Continental Philosophy and Theology will be meeting in concurrent, parallel sessions with the Society of Christian Philosophers.  Our program will feature keynote speakers drawn from both the SCP and SCPT.

Call for Papers
We invite submissions exploring any topic of interest to Christian philosophers, but those dealing explicitly with the conference theme may be given preference.  The conference organizers intend to bring together a wide range of topics and ideas with the hope of fostering a rich and broad discussion among those interested in Christianity and philosophy.  We welcome participation from both Christians and non-Christian philosophers as presenters and participants.

300 word abstracts (plus professional contact information) for individual papers, book sessions and panels are due by October 15, 2013. (Each speaker is allowed no more than 30 minutes, including question and answer time.) We intend to notify those accepted by December 1, 2013.  Please submit all abstracts and contact information to: [email protected]

Graduate Student Prize
Graduate students who wish to be considered for the SCP’s prize for the Best Graduate Student Paper must submit a final draft of their papers by February 1, 2014.  The $750 award will be presented publicly at the conference
