Keynote: Tony Lawson (University of Cambridge) 'Why Bother with Social Ontology?'

The last decade has seen a resurgence of interest in Aristotle’s work among political, social and moral theorists – with identifiably Aristotelian themes and positions emerging in debates on issues from well-being to social ontology, and from management theory to the capabilities approach.  And as previously, there is a suitably broad remit for the third annual conference of the PSA’s Contemporary Aristotelian Studies Group. Contributions to the conference typically embody a wide array of focal points and applications, including (as broad examples):

  • Politics
  • Ethics
  • Sociology
  • Education
  • Political economy
  • Law
  • Social policy
  • Social justice
  • Equality
  • Diversity
  • The theory/practice relationship
