Keynote: Tony Lawson (University of Cambridge) 'Why Bother with Social Ontology?'
The last decade has seen a resurgence of interest in Aristotle’s work among political, social and moral theorists – with identifiably Aristotelian themes and positions emerging in debates on issues from well-being to social ontology, and from management theory to the capabilities approach. And as previously, there is a suitably broad remit for the third annual conference of the PSA’s Contemporary Aristotelian Studies Group. Proposals are welcome on any aspect of Aristotelian thinking of contemporary social significance, across all relevant disciplines. Contributions to the conference typically embody a wide array of focal points and applications, including (as broad examples):
- Politics
- Ethics
- Sociology
- Education
- Political economy
- Law
- Social policy
- Social justice
- Equality
- Diversity
- The theory/practice relationship
