Details

It is popular to describe ancient ethics as eudaimonistic and put it in a sharp contrast to modern moral concepts; but there are also various contemporary thinkers who try to incorporate some ancient insights into their philosophy. The presentations of the workshop “Eudaimonia – Glück in der Antike” take us back to the origins of these discussions. In their papers the speakers critically examine diverse theories on happiness ranging from Plato to Roman Philosophy.

The workshop “Eudaimonia – Glück in der Antike” takes place from August 30th to August 31st 2013 in Vienna. The congress is open to the public and no registration is needed.
