Details

The Mechane Lab (Laboratory of Philosophy of Technology) is pleased to announce the international conference:“Hand, Brain and Speech”, in Naples (University Federico II), from 25 to 27 October 2023.

In his Treatise on the Creation of Man, Gregory Nyssen wrote that human beings started speaking since their mouth did not deal with nourishment. By helping human beings in this respect, the hand freed speech and forged the brain in such a way as to encode language in it. The annual conference of the “Mechane Lab” will focus on the relationship between the hand, the brain, and speech as the lever to define the concept of humanity.
