The Kim Young-Jung lectures is back (after a Covid hiatus)!
The lectures was founded in 2011 by fellow scholars in memory of Prof. Kim Young-Jung, who was a distinguished scholar and member of the SNU Department of Philosophy since 2006, and had been actively engaging in and contributing to the Korean academia with renowned expertise in the areas of the philosophy of mind and cognitive science. He was also a proactive faculty member, serving as the Dean of the SNU Admissions Office. His unexpected loss in 2009 was grievous news for the entire SNU community.
Since its start in 2011, the Kim Young-Jung lectures has been the biggest annual event in the SNU Department of Philosophy, providing chances for the students and faculty to invite and learn from world-renowned scholars. This year, Professor Michael Bratman (Stanford) will be giving three lectures on the significance of the human capacity for planning agency as follows:
