The Toronto Working Group in Philosophy of Religion will hold a workshop on the topic God and Value Theory (broadly construed) on June 4-6, 2024 in Toronto, Ontario.
The workshop will be read-ahead: accepted authors should expect to have a conference paper ready for distribution by May 1, 2024, and should come to the workshop ready to discuss all papers.
Keynote sessions will be given by Mark Murphy, Leigh Vicens, and Scott Davison.
The workshop will feature both invited and submitted papers. Those interested in giving a submitted paper should prepare an abstract of 300-500 words for blind review and submit it here:https://forms.gle/16Hy63VeR8uo7MDf6
Possible topics include but are not limited to:
- divine goodness
- the relationship between theism and aesthetics
- the role of religion in public life
- the cardinal virtues as they relate to theism
- the axiology of theism
- theism and epistemic value
- the problem of evil
Work on any of these questions situated in particular theistic traditions is most welcome.
