The Inquiry Network, in partnership with Vanderbilt University, is hosting a workshop on inquiry at Vanderbilt on July 26-27, 2024. Confirmed speakers include Julia Staffel, Christoph Kelp, and Dennis Whitcomb.

We invite submissions of anonymized abstracts (up to 1,000 words) on any topic related to the philosophy of inquiry. For example, papers might address topics such as:

·      Norms of inquiry.

·      The relationship between inquiry and interrogative attitudes such as curiosity and suspension of judgment.

·      The relationship between inquiry and attention or salience.

·      The semantics and pragmatics of questions.

·      Virtues and vices of inquiry.

·      Inquiry in specific domains, such as scientific inquiry or philosophical inquiry.

·      Historical approaches to inquiry (for example, work on the American Pragmatists, ancient Pyrrhonians, etc.).

·      Ethics of inquiry.
