CFP: 85th Virginia Philosophical Association Annual Conference

This is a call for papers for the 85th Virginia Philosophical Association annual conference, to be held at Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, VA.

The conference will run from Friday afternoon, October 11, 2023 through Saturday lunchtime, October 12, 2023.

The Keynote speakers will be Wendy Parker (Virginia Tech) and Erin Taylor (Washington & Lee).

We welcome submissions in any area of philosophy from philosophers and graduate students. Papers should be no longer than 4,500 words. Please prepare the paper as a PDF for blind review and include a brief abstract. Please provide your name, affiliation, and whether you are a graduate student in the body of the email. Email papers to Gil Hersch [email protected], with 'VPA Submission' in the subject line.

A prize for the best graduate student paper will be awarded.

Paper submission deadline: July 15, 2024.

Commentators will be solicited from those whose papers are not selected, so please indicate in the body of the email if you would be willing to be a commenter, should your paper not be accepted. 

This conference is an in-person event.

There is no conference fee or membership requirement, and Friday night's dinner will be provided by Virginia Tech.
