Pragmatism, with its focus on the human dimension of inquiry, offers a compelling lens through which to explore the nature, scope, and limits of scientific knowledge. This workshop will, building on recent work, explore topics at the intersection of pragmatism and philosophy of science, examining how pragmatism sheds light on scientific practice, success, and the interplay between metaphysics and epistemology. By bringing together leading philosophers with a shared interest in pragmatism across diverse disciplinary backgrounds, we aim to foster the ongoing development of this promising area of inquiry.

We invite submissions for short talks or posters from scholars, particularly junior scholars and graduate students, whose work aligns with the themes of the workshop. Submissions should include an abstract of no more than 500 words and indicate the preferred format (short talk or poster).  (All abstracts will be considered for both formats unless a preference is indicated.) Abstracts should be submitted via email to Paul Arnold ([email protected]) by July 15, 2024.
