This is a one-day intensive online seminar, divided into three 90-minute sessions with 30-minute breaks between sessions. Tuition for the seminar is $99.00, and students must register through the course site

We will be focusing on the Self-Consciousness section of G.W.F. Hegel's early and influential text the Phenomenology of Spirit. In particular, we will zero in on the famous "Master-Slave dialectic" portion of that section.

Students will be provided with a number of useful handouts, and will retain access to seminar recordings

The order of the sessions in the seminar are:

Part 1 - Self-Consciousness and the Master-Slave dialectic

Part 2 - Selected interpretations of the Master-Slave dialectic by later philosophers

Part 3 - Going beyond the Master-Slave dialectic in Hegel's Phenomenology of Spirit
