We invite submissions of abstracts for presentations at the workshop “Narratives across Fiction and Non-Fiction,” to be held at Uppsala University on 11th, 12th, and 13th of June 2025. The workshop is organized by Andreas Stokke as part of the research project “Exploring the Shadowlands: Towards an Understanding of the Interaction between Fiction and Non-Fiction,” funded by the Swedish Research Council.

Potential topics might include (in no particular order):
- Fictionalizing tendencies in non-fictional narratives
- The nature of narratives
- Learning from narratives, fictional or not
- How to draw the fiction-non-ficiton divide, if at all
- Linguistic characteristics of narrativity
- Epistemic framing
- Meta-narrative comments or asides
But contributions on other topics in the vicinity are also welcome.
Talks should be about 45 min. long.
Travel and accommodation will be covered for all speakers.
Submissions should be sent to [email protected] no later than 15 March 2025. In your email please include two separate documents, both in pdf format: (i) A title page with your name, affiliation, and contact details, (ii) Your sumbmission with a title and abstract of your proposed talk of maximum 500 words, and a reference list (if applicable). (ii) should be entirely anonymized.
