Details

This conference aims to shed new light on the debate over scientific realism by measuring the currently popular thesis of structural realism against the historical record. Participants will present papers consisting of two parts:
PART 1: An argument for why the philosophical thesis of structural realism would lead us to expect to see a certain phenomenon (participant’s choice) reflected in the historical record;

PART 2: A case study (participant’s choice) which illustrates either the fulfillment or the violation of those expectations.
500-word abstracts may be submitted [email protected] before March 1. Abstracts should outline  PARTS 1 & 2 as described above.
Notification will be made by March 15.
To register, send an email with subject heading "Registration" to [email protected]

Many thanks, Chris Haufe, Department of Philosophy Alan Rocke, Department of History
