Abstract:

In a number of places I’ve defended a version of presentism that I’m calling ‘Existence Presentism’. In this paper, I quickly sketch an outline of the view—highlighting some of the differences between Existence Presentism and other versions of presentism. I then argue that Existence Presentism probably shouldn’t be classified as a dynamic theory of time, given certain views about what it is to be dynamic that are often given in the literature. I argue that this doesn’t matter. I close by suggesting that no-one should actively want to be a dynamic theorist.
