Saint Louis University’s Philosophy Graduate Student Association welcomes submissions from graduate students writing on topics at the intersection of epistemology and philosophy of religion. 

The conference will be held in person on 18-19 September 2025 at Saint Louis University. In addition to student presentations, there will be two keynote presentations by Hud Hudson (Western Washington University) and Eleonore Stump (Saint Louis University).

The conference theme is Epistemic Problems in Religion.

Relevant topics include (but are not limited to):

  • The rationality and nature of religious belief
  • Reformed Epistemology
  • Skeptical Theism
  • Divine hiddenness
  • Problems raised by religious pluralism
  • The reliability of testimony reporting miracles
  • Religious revelation and experiences
  • Mysticism and rational belief
  • Epistemological questions raised by specific religious doctrines
  • Religious reasons and action theory

Other topics dealing with religion, rationality, and knowledge.

We welcome submissions from all religious traditions and philosophical backgrounds. 

Submissions should be less than 3500 words, prepared for blind review, and accompanied by a separate cover page containing the author’s name, affiliation, paper title, word count, and an abstract of 350 words or fewer.
