“Behind Theatrical Performance

Group Session on Aesthetics @ the Central APA

Four papers will be presented.  Each probes behind what seems on offer in standard theatrical performance by examining overlooked substructure (scripts), unsuspected loci of thought and action (puppet and robot minds), or unanticipated sources of added value (the sacramental). Thus each paper takes us beyond, below, or behind the surface to expose unnoticed machinery and diagnose the basis for its effects.
