Details

ABSTRACT: This paper explores and critiques the way in which French philosopher Catherine Malabou understands personhood. It takes a broadly critical view of Malabou’s argument that contemporary philosophy condemns itself to irrelevance if it does not engage with recent work in neuroscience.

BIO: Christopher Watkin is a senior lecturer in French at Monash University. His latest book is Difficult Atheism: Post-Theological Thinking in Alain Badiou, Jean-Luc Nancy and Quentin Meillassoux, and he is currently working on a project entitled The Human Remains, about contemporary French philosophical anthropology.
