We are accepting submissions on all aspects of reference, broadly construed. Topics of interest might include (though are not limited to):

  • the relations between reference and other important notions in philosophy of language: truth, normativity, meaning, predication, etc
  • theories of the nature of reference within different metasemantic frameworks (causal theories, inferentialism, formal theories of reference, etc.)
  • varieties of reference in different modalities: mental, perpetual, linguistic, etc.
  • varieties of reference in different media: pictorial reference, maps, etc.
  • reference and vagueness
  • names and naming

To submit please fill out the following form, with a 500-word abstract, by April the 20th: https://forms.gle/zos68X8rki43puyT9    Abstracts must be anonymised. The word count does not include any references or bibliography. Notification of acceptance will be sent by the 1st of May.
