We invite scholars to explore the fundamental question: Why and where did logic first appear?

This workshop seeks to investigate the diverse origins and early developments of logic across different philosophical and cultural traditions, with special attention to both Eastern and Western perspectives. We welcome proposals on any aspect related to the origins of logic. Topics may include, but are not restricted to, the following questions:

History of ancient logic

History of Indian logic

History of Chinese logic

Mathematical sciences, language, dialectics, and rhetoric and the origins of logic

Philosophy of logic

The rise of the concept of truth in Western and non-Western logic

The shaping of algorithmic reasoning vs. reasoning from assumptions (axiomatic).

Submit a one page  abstract by October 15,  2025 to [email protected] and [email protected]
