Dimensions of Intentionality
Ruhr-Universität Bochum 29th September - 1st October 2014Traditionally, intentionality has been used as a technical term for the mind's directedness at objects or states of affairs. In this workshop we intend to discuss some of the many dimensions of intentionality, for example, its naturalization and the viability of a notion of biological intentionality, the relation of intentionality to mental representation in light of embodied and enactive approaches to cognition more generally, the notions of phenomenal intentionality, affective intentionality and motor intentionality, issues concerning the analysis of collective intentionality and social understanding.
Everybody is welcome. Participation is free but seats are limited. So please register by email to nike dot zohm at rub dot de. Further details soon at: www.rub.de/philosophy/dimensionsofintentionality
