The 2026 workshop-conference will be a special celebration of the 50th anniversary of our organization, which was founded in 1976 to improve the quality of philosophy instruction, promote scholarship in philosophical pedagogy, and support teachers.
What is a workshop-conference? AAPT conference sessions are not lectures with slides, but interactive, philosophy-specific, faculty development sessions in which each presenter introduces a new or improved pedagogy to an audience of philosphers. Each AAPT workshop-conference offers more than 40 of these sessions, along with keynotes leactures, engaging panel discussions, and collegial networking events.
