Call for Open Essays – Thaumazein, Volume 15, Issue 1 (2027)

Thaumàzein invites submissions for its forthcoming open issue (Vol. 15, No. 1, June 2027). Unlike previous monographic issues, this volume welcomes original contributions across the journal's core areas of interest, with particular attention to:

  • Philosophy of emotions and the phenomenology of affective life;
  • Philosophy and psychiatry (philosophy of psychiatry, philosophical psychopathology, phenomenological approaches to mental disorders);
  • Philosophy as a way of transformation (philosophy as a way of life, spiritual exercises, ethics of self-formation and Bildung);
  • Ancient philosophy and its contemporary resonance.

Contributions in theoretical philosophy, moral philosophy, and the history of philosophy more broadly are also welcome. Prospective authors are encouraged to consult the journal's back catalogue:

Submission Guidelines

Contributions may be submitted in English or Italian, in two stages:

  • Stage 1 – Title and abstract (max. 4,000 characters): by 1 July 2026, to be sent to [email protected] and to Prof. Guido Cusinato ([email protected]).
  • Stage 2 – Full paper (max. 35,000 characters, including spaces): by 1 November 2026, via the OJS platform:https://rivista.thaumazein.it/index.php/thaum/about/submissions
