Call for Papers — Persistence, Volume 1 (2026)
Persistence is the annual peer-reviewed journal of the Institute for Complexity Science and Advanced Computing (ICSAC), published as a curated print and ebook volume (ISBN-registered; distributed via Amazon and Ingram). It is independent and diamond open access: no submission or publication fees of any kind, and authors retain full copyright (CC BY 4.0 default, author's choice).
Scope. Persistence publishes rigorous, foundational, and cross-disciplinary work in complexity science broadly construed: nonlinear dynamics and complex systems; information theory and the geometry of information; and computational or theoretical approaches to cognition, consciousness, and intelligence, biological and artificial. We welcome contributions from physics, biology, neuroscience, cognitive science, computer science, mathematics, and philosophy — and we especially value work that crosses disciplinary lines or interrogates foundations and methods.
For this audience: we particularly welcome philosophical and foundational work — philosophy of mind and cognitive science, philosophy of physics and computation, formal epistemology, and conceptual or methodological critique — within that interdisciplinary scope.
Rigorous heterodox and independent research is read on equal terms with institutionally affiliated work.
Review — and why you can trust it. Every submission is evaluated through a structured multi-reviewer process, with a human curator signing off on each decision and submissions blinded beforehand. Our entire editorial pipeline — rubrics, blinding procedure, and citation checks — is open source and public, so you can read exactly how your paper will be judged before submitting:

Terms. No fees to submit or publish. Authors keep full copyright. Accepted papers are eligible to appear in the print/ebook volume and receive a DOI and a public review record. ICSAC has already produced a peer-reviewed scholarly print volume (LCCN-registered) — an established pipeline, not a first attempt.
Submission. Details and portal: https://icsacinstitute.org/submit · Deadline: 01 October 2026.
