CFP: Dimensions of Radical Embodiment IV

The 4th instalment of the Dimensions of Radical Embodiment Conference series will take place at the University of Bristol on 26-27th July 2027. 

The conference focuses on Radical Embodied Cognition, Ecological Psychology, and Enactivist approaches to the mind, and related philosophical issues.

As well as addressing broad issues relating to these approaches, this instalment of the conference will have two specific areas of focus:

1.Radical Embodiment in Healthcare and Psychopathology

2.Radical Embodiment in AI and Robotics

• Prof. Ute Leonards (University of Bristol)

The conference will also include talks based on submitted abstracts (see Call for Contributions page), with some spaces reserved for early career researchers and PhD students. The deadline for submitted abstracts is Monday 11th January 2027.

If you are interested in presenting your work at the conference, please submit an anonymised abstract (maximum 500 words) for a talk of roughly 30 minutes by email to [email protected] by the deadline of midnight on Monday 11th January 2027. 

Please also submit a separate document including the following information:

• If a PhD graduate, the year of your PhD award

• Whether you are interested in also attending the Embodiment and Intelligence in Philosophy and Robotics conference on 28-29th July

The conference will be immediately followed by a partner event at the same venue, the British Academy conference on Embodiment and Intelligence in Philosophy and Robotics, which will take place on 28-29th July 2027. Speakers at Dimensions of Radical Embodiment 4 will not need to pay a registration fee to attend this extra conference.
