It is my great pleasure to announce that ‘third International Conference on Contemporary Philosophy of Religion’ will be held in Tehran, Iran at January 7-8, 2015. The Conference is organized by Iranian Association for Philosophy of Religion (IAPR: http://philor.org), in cooperation with Tarbiat Modares University (www.modares.ac.ir/en).

Iranian Association for Philosophy of Religion (IAPR) has decided to organize this conference to establish the unique ground for dialogue and mutual understanding among the very influential community of Philosophy of Religion from both West and East, with the hope to make a bridge from the abstraction to action, soIAPR is greatly honored to invite you to participate in this important event. Call for Papers

Subject matter: Contemporary issues in philosophy of religion: religion, ethics and culture

Conference Themes

The two-day conference will explore the following issues:

1- Conceptual and theoretical relationship between religion and ethics

2- Religious and secular ethics

3- Contemporary challenges to religious ethics

4- Religious commitment and moral tolerance

5- Religion and culture

6- Culture and different forms of religiosity

7- The role of religion, ethics and culture in meaningfulness of life

8- Global Ethics, the Abrahamic religions and local cultures

9- Religious, moral and cultural education

Submissions

Proposals of papers should consist of a title, a 150-250 word abstract, and the author's name and full contact information.

Deadline: 15th November 2014. Early submissions are especially welcome. (because the process of visa issue takes more than one month it is requested to send your abstract before November for your convenience)
