Details
The PLP Graduate Forum invites PhD students and early career scholars from its seven member institutions to submit abstracts for the 2026–27 Seminar Series.
ELIGIBILITY: PhD students and early career scholars at the University of Cambridge, the University of Oxford, the University of Surrey, the London School of Economics and Political Science, King's College London, Queen Mary University of London, or University College London.
The Philosophy, Law & Politics Graduate Forum is a network of doctoral candidates, early career researchers, and established academics working at the intersection of legal, moral, and political philosophy. Each session of the Seminar Series is built around a paper by a doctoral student or early career scholar, which is discussed by two commentators: a graduate student from another institution in our network and an academic specialising in the paper's topic. Our affiliated academics are listed at https://plpoxford.org/graduate-forum.
We are seeking four papers, to be presented at different points across the academic year, with each session scheduled at the speaker's convenience. We welcome submissions on a wide range of issues and themes, provided the topic is timely and of interest to any of our three disciplines: philosophy, law, and politics. We particularly encourage ambitious work that pushes methodological, conceptual, or thematic boundaries.
HOW TO APPLY: Submit your paper title and an anonymised abstract of no more than 500 words through our online form: https://forms.gle/yWvXCgM49WvrSNk66 Please make sure the abstract contains no identifying information.
DEADLINE: 9am (UK time), Friday 20 November 2026. All applicants will hear from us during the first half of January 2027.
