Details

The Society for German Idealism and Romanticism is inviting submissions for the inaugural, annual conference of the SGIR to be held at the University of Chicago on October 1-2, 2016. The theme for the conference will be “The Role of the Imagination in German Idealism and Romanticism.” The SGIR committee welcomes papers on all aspects of German Idealism and Romanticism, but is particularly interested in papers on the Imagination. The committee will only consider completed papers. Submissions may be either 3,000 or 5,000 words in length. Paper length will determine the session section but may also be a factor in selection. There will be more openings for papers that are 3,000 words in length.

The SGIR will also award the “SGIR Faculty Paper of the Year” and the “SGIR Graduate Paper of the Year” to two of the accepted papers. These awards will be determined through blind review by both the SGIR Committee and the Advisory Board of the SGIR.
