The graduate students at the Universities of Fribourg, Lausanne, Neuchâtel and Geneva invite submissions from graduate students of papers to be presented at the first Lake Geneva Graduate Conference, which will be held at the University of Geneva on Friday, May 27th, 2016.

Every effort will be made to cover travel costs in part if not in full, including for selected graduate students traveling from outside Europe. Meals and accommodation will be provided.

Keynote speakers: Prof. Karen Bennett (Cornell) & Prof. Christian Wüthrich (Geneva)

Topic: Explanation, broadly conceived.

Submission guidelines:

*All papers should be of a maximum of 10 pages (single-spaced). They should correspond to presentations of 30 to 40 minutes, to be followed by 20 minutes of discussion.

*Only PDF files will be accepted.

*Submissions must be prepared for blind-review.

*Please include a separate PDF file as a cover page stating your name, a reminder of the title of your submission, your current academic institution(s) and your academic email address.

*Please send your submissions to the following address: [email protected]

*Submissions from graduate students at academic institutions from the Lake Geneva area who are NOT part of the LG2C team are invited as well. These submissions will be transferred for blind-review to researchers located outside the Lake Geneva area. Please double-check that your submission is fully prepared for blind-review and that your cover page clearly discloses your affiliation to an academic institution from the Lake Geneva area.

Conference scholarships for non-speaker participants: Graduate students from the Lake Geneva area are eligible for reimbursement of train fares and meals. They can apply here: https://lg2c.wordpress.com. We encourage other non-speaker participants to contact us so that we can help them with their accommodation and applications for funding.
