The conference organisers invite abstracts on 

  • Theories of human dignity and human rights
  • Institutional enforcement of human rights and human dignity

The organisers particularly welcome papers engaging with innovations in our understanding of human dignity. Possible topics might be amongst the following (non exhaustive): 

  • Human dignity and the future
  • Human dignity and longtermism
  • Reforming politics and government in the light of human dignity 
  • Ethics, aesthetics, and the politics of memory
  • A ' community of rights ' 
  • Citizenship and cosmopolitanism
  • Human dignity and technology

We invite abstracts of 500 words on these or related topics. The extended deadline for submission is July 18. Please forward to [email protected]. You are invited to contact the organisers if you have proposals for panels related to the conference theme. All submissions will be reviewed by panel. 

There will be 5 conference fee options (please visit http://humandignity.sites.uu.nl/the-future-of-human-dignity/). A small number of fee waivers are available for early career researchers. To apply for these the applicants should e-mail the organisers at vici.futureofhumandignity stating briefly their current academic or employment status and rationale for attending the conference.
