Roads to Freedom? Unsolved Questions in Kant's Legal and Political Philosophy

In contemporary debates in philosophy, jurisprudence and political sciences Immanuel Kant is always referred to as a liberal thinker. For instance, he is still the main author of reference when talking about the justification of human dignity as an innate right, liberal conceptions of international law as well as cosmopolitan peace theories. But is Kant really the liberal theoretician he is purported to be? This question will be the theme of this interdisciplinary conference.
