Details

Arkete welcomes submissions fo a special issue on Rhetoric, Art of Memory, and Combinatory Logic.

The Art of Memory is a set of mnemonic principles and techniques used to organize memory impressions, improve recall, and assist in the combination and 'invention' of ideas. In the ancient world the Art of Memory is developed as part of the Rhetoric in order to define the 'places', the 'image' and 'order' that favor the memory of facts and notions.

This issue of Arkete aims to explore the Art of Memory from different perspectives in its connection with Rhetoric and Combinatory Logic. Possible topics:

- Rhetoric and Mnemotechnics

- Imagines and Method of Loci

- Memory Theaters

- Memory and Figural Cognition

- Combinatory Logic and Encyclopaedism

-  Architectural Mnemonic

Please note that the above is a *non-exhaustive* list of possible topics. Submissions on any aspect of the Art of Memory  are welcome.
