Details

The workshop on concepts and perception has set out to be an interdisciplinary event gathering local and international researchers that work on the areas of philosophy of mind and cognitive sciences, psychology, cognitive linguistics and philosophy of language. The workshop inquires into the nature of concepts and perceptual states. In this third edition, we propose to examine in depth, on the one hand, discussions on the nature and relationship of conceptual and non-conceptual contents and the format of their representational vehicles. On the other hand, discussions will also focus on the problem of normativity, the normative status of concepts, and the nature and origin of normativity in conceptual and non-conceptual content involved in the use and possession of concepts, perceptual states and particular linguistic phenomena, such as metaphor.
