Details
We are currently seeing a rapid development and use of artificial intelligence, as well as of technology more generally. This raises a host of new ethical questions, both practical and theoretical, ranging from issues dealing with data collection, privacy, nano- and biotechnology, transhumanism, as well as whether actual or possible artificial systems can have moral rights, and the possibility of the singularity. These are just a few examples.
The department of Religion, Philosophy and History, together with the Center For Artificial Intelligence Research (CAIR), at the University of Agder, Norway, will host a full two-day conference on the general topic of Ethics and Artificial Intelligence on December 4-5, 2017.
In that regard, we send out a call for papers or long abstracts on the general topic of Ethics and Artificial Intelligence.
Deadline: November 3rd, 2017. (A decision will be reached by November 17th, 2017.)
Submit to: [email protected] (subject headline: E&AI Conference)
The conference will include a couple of keynote speakers in addition to the selected submissions. Travels, hotel, lunch (both days), and a conference dinner will be covered for all speakers.
The conference is also open to anyone who wants to participate without presenting anything. Just send the organizer an e-mail (see below) to let him know you’re coming (so we can get the right amount of lunch, among other things).
