Details

Knowing What to Do will be a two-day workshop on ethical epistemology. The workshop will host several guest speakers, including Michael Huemer, Matthew Lutz, Sarah McGrath, and Jacob Ross.

We construe 'ethical epistemology' broadly; the workshop will include discussion of moral epistemology as well as the epistemology of other normative matters. Relevant topics include, but are not limited to: the nature of justification for ethical thought, intuition in ethical thought, ethical perception, ethical deference, ethical expertise, relationships between particular metaethical theories and particular epistemological theories, arguments for or against (global or local) ethical skepticism, the relationship between ethical and non-normative epistemology, the epistemic significance of ethical disagreement, and the relationship between reasons for belief and reasons for action.
