Early Modern—Saint Louis (EM-STL) is now accepting submissions for our April 20-21, 2018 conference to be held in downtown Saint Louis.

Submissions are welcome on any aspect of Modern philosophy, roughly understood as the period from Montaigne through Mill. Submissions on British philosophy after Hume are particularly encouraged.

Annemarie Butler (Iowa State University) will give the keynote presentation, entitled “Locke and Hume on the Demonstrability of God's Existence.”

The conference will include a panel on teaching Early Modern philosophy, led by Julie Walsh (Wellesley College).

Please prepare 300-500 word abstracts for blind review and submit them through Easy Chair at http://em-stl.net/submit.

Papers should be suitable for a 25 minute presentation, followed by 30 minutes of Q&A.

The deadline for submissions is January 25, 2018. Applicants will be notified of acceptance by February 18.
