Venue and Date:
The workshop “The Significance of Higher-Order Evidence” takes place at the University of Cologne (Germany) on September 21, 2018. It is a satellite workshop of GAP.10. (GAP.10 ends one day earlier on September 20, 2018.)
Purpose of the Workshop:
The purpose of the workshop is to bring together epistemologists who work on higher-order evidence. We are especially interested in debates concerning:
- conceptions of higher-order evidence
- epistemic akrasia
- evidence of evidence
- higher-order evidence and deductive reasoning
- higher-order evidence and defeaters
- higher-order evidence and disagreement
- higher-order evidence and suspension of judgement
- higher-order evidence, propositional and doxastic justification
- modeling higher-order evidence

Submissions:
We welcome submissions for additional talks. If you want to give a talk, please submit an extended anonymous abstract of not more than 1500 words (PDF) and a short anonymous abstract of not more than 150 words (PDF) to Kathrin Hommel ([email protected]) by April 15, 2018 (11:59 pm, UTC+1). The subject line of the email should be: “The Significance of Higher-Order Evidence”.
Please keep in mind that each presentation will be one hour long, including 15 to 20 minutes for the Q&A session.
