This annual conference aims to bring together researchers whose work focuses on mind and its relations with language. uAnalytiCon-2018 seeks to open up a set of important questions about epistemological status of artificial and human intelligence, perception, memory, imagination, intentionality, consciousness, and self in the light of the language constraints.

We welcome submissions from a wide range of disciplines related to mind and language, including but not limited to:

  • philosophy of mind;
  • philosophy of language;
  • logic;
  • philosophy of mathematics;
  • epistemology and philosophy of science;
  • neuropsychology;
  • cognitive linguistics;
  • philosophy of computer science and AI.

The paper sessions will be announced later.

We will also organize a workshop dedicated to writing and publishing articles in English-language journals as well as tours of the robotics lab and the neuroscience lab at UrFU.


Official conference languages: Russian, English.

Participation is free but registration is required.

The deadline for abstract submissions is February 1, 2018. 

Notifications of acceptance will be sent by February 22, 2018.

Abstracts must be 500 words or less and prepared for blind review. Please submit abstracts (in .docx or.doc format) and a short CV to [email protected] with the subject "uAnalytiCon-2018".

All submissions should be suitable for 20 minutes presentation followed by 10 minutes discussion.

Papers presented at the conference will be eligible for inclusion in IZVESTIA Ural Federal University Journal. Series 3. Social and Political Sciences. IZVESTIA is a peer-reviewed, open access journal published online.
