Transcendental Turn in Contemporary Philosophy-3: the Nature and the Specificity of Transcendental Philosophy

Department of Philosophy of the State Academic University for the Humanities (SAUH), Department of Philosophy of Russian State University for the Humanities (RSUH), Foundation for the Humanities announces a call for papers for the international workshop on transcendental philosophy.

The workshop–2018 «Transcendental Turn in Contemporary Philosophy-3 is continuation of workshops «Transcendental Turn in Contemporary Philosophy (1): Metaphysics, Theory of Experience, Theory of Consciousness» (Moscow, April, 2016; https://phil.hse.ru/trans; https://elibrary.ru/item.asp?id=29024766) and «Transcendental Turn in Contemporary Philosophy (2): Kant’s appearance, its ontological and epistemic status» (Moscow, April, 2017; https://phil.hse.ru/plc/trans2017; https://elibrary.ru/item.asp?id=30560011).

The aim of the workshop is to analyze the nature (the specificity) of transcendental philosophy and to discuss different contemporary interpretations of transcendental philosophy of I. Kant and E. Husserl.

Format of the workshop: several thematic sections and panel sessions are planned. Each thematic section presupposes 2-3 keynote speakers (1(2) main presentation(s) and/or 1–2 co-presentations), some small talks and general discussion. Within the panel sessions talks of the participants will be presented and discussed. Among invited speakers there are R.Howell, R.Hanna, L.Allais, N.Stang, C.Marshall, D.Hogan, N.V.Motroshilova, L.A.Kalinnikov, V.I.Molchanov, V.N.Belov, A.N.Kruglov, M.E.Soboleva, V.V.Vasilyev, etc.

Main topics:

Ø  (1) Kant’s transcendentalism: the interpretation of "two aspects" (realism) vs. the interpretation of "two worlds/objects" (phenomenalism/intentionalism);

Ø  (2) Kant’s theory of experience (empirical knowledge): constructivism vs. realism;

Ø (3) Nature (Specifics) of Husserl’s transcendental philosophy;

Ø (4) Nature (Specifics) of Neo-Kantianism.

Date: 20-22 April 2018.

Venue: Moscow (Russia), SAUH, RSUH.

Formats of participation:

o Keynote presentation (speech aprox. 35 min, question & discussion 15 min);

oTalks within thematic and panel sections (speech aprox.20 min, question 5–10 min);

o  Small talks within the thematic and panel sections (10 – 15 min.).

The working languages of the workshop will be Russian, English.

Deadline for submissions is 18th February 2018. Abstracts, of no more than 1000 words, in English should be sent to [email protected]. In addition to the abstract, please include in your proposal annotation, your academic title, name, affiliation, and the title of your contribution. Authors will be notified on the status of their submission by March 1, 2018.

Conditions for participants: The Committee does not cover the travel expense and accommodation in Moscow for participants, meanwhile the necessary info support may be provided.

Трансцендентальный поворот в современной философии–3: природа (специфика) трансцендентальной философии

Уважаемые коллеги!

Философский факультет ГАУГН, философский факультет РГГУ и фонд «Центр гуманитарных исследований» приглашают к участию в международном трансцендентальном семинаре.

Семинар продолжает серию семинаров «Трансцендентальный поворот в современной философии», проведенных в апреле 2016 (https://phil.hse.ru/trans; https://elibrary.ru/item.asp?id=29024766) и 2017 (https://phil.hse.ru/plc/trans2017; https://elibrary.ru/item.asp?id=30560011) гг.

Целью семинара 2018 г. является анализ природы (специфики) трансцендентальной философии, обсуждение различных интерпретаций трансцендентализма И. Канта и Э. Гуссерля.

Формат семинара: будет проведено несколько тематических и секционное заседание. На тематических заседаниях будут заслушаны 2–3 основных тематических доклада (доклад + содоклад), несколько выступлений и организована общая дискуссия. На секционном заседании будут представлены и обсуждены доклады участников. Среди приглашенных докладчиков R.Howell, R.Aquila, R.Hanna, L.Allais, N.Stang, C.Marshall, D.Hogan, Н.В.Мотрошилова, Л.А.Калинников, В.И.Молчанов, В.Н.Белов, А.Н.Круглов, М.Е.Соболева и др..

Основные темы семинара:

Ø кантовский трансцендентализм: теория «двух аспектов» (реализм) vs. теория «двух миров» (феноменализм);

Ø кантовская теория опыта: реализм vs. конструктивизм;

Ø  природа и специфика гуссерлевского трансцендентализма.

Ø  природа и специфика неокантианства.

Время проведения: 22 – 22 апреля 2018 г.

Место проведения: Москва, ГАУГН, РГГУ.

Формы участия:

o Основные доклады (доклад и со-доклады; 30 – 40 мин.);

o Тематические и секционные доклады (20 – 25 мин.)

o Выступления на «круглом столе» и секциях (до 7 – 15 мин.)

Для участия в семинаре необходимо до 18 февраля 2018 г. на электронный адрес [email protected] выслать тему и тезисы выступления (объем – до 1000 слов; в формате Word). Тезисы должны сопровождаться аннотацией (на русском и английском), справочной информацией об авторе (ФИО, звание и должность, место работы, контакты). Решение оргкомитета об участии будет разослано авторам до 1 марта 2018 г.

Условия для участников: оргкомитет конференции не покрывает расходов на дорогу до Москвы и на проживание в Москве, но готов оказать необходимую информационную поддержку.
