Details

On the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the Italian Meetings on Neuroethics organized in Padua since 2009, the Italian Society for Neuroethics aims, in its 5th conference, at providing an overview of the most relevant issues in the current debate on neuroethics and to show the extent of novelty and of continuity with the very first meeting on neuroethics, held in 2002 in San Francisco with the title “Neuroethics: Mapping the Field”.

Thus, we invite contributions on the following sections:

1. Cognitive enhancement.

2. Moral cognition.

3. Neurolaw.

4. Free will, consciousness, and philosophy of cognitive science.

5. Clinical applications of technological innovations.

Contributions can be experimental, theoretical, analytical, or critical works.

Participants can only send one contribution as first authors, but they can appear as second authors of other contributions.

Abstracts must be submitted through EasyChair (https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=sine-2018).

Any request of information should be sent to [email protected].

Abstracts must be ready for double blind review and should not exceed 300 words, plus 10 reference records, which will not be considered in the words count. Authors should indicate in their submission the section for which they intend to contribute.

Abstracts can be written either in Italian or in English, according to the language chosen for the paper. However, since the audience is often international, we encourage submissions in English.

Deadlines and Reviewing Process

The deadline for abstract submission is February 15th, 2018.

Notification of acceptance will be given by March 15th, 2018.

Abstracts will be subject to blind review. The Scientific Committee will be selected from members of the Italian Society for Neuroethics (https://societadineuroetica.wordpress.com).

Accepted papers will have 20 minutes for presentation, plus 10 minutes for discussion.

All authors of selected papers, if attending, will have to subscribe to the Conference.
