Philosophia Scientiae invites contributions for the following special topic:

The Alan Turing Year

Thematic issue of Philosophia Scientiæ 16/ 3 (Fall 2012)

Guest Editors: Jack Copeland, Didier Galmiche, Dominique Larchey-Wendling, Joseph Vidal-Rosset

Submission deadline: December 1, 2011

Notification Date: March 1, 2012

To mark the centenary of the birth of Alan Turing, Philosophia Scientiæ publish in 2012 a selection of articles related to the work of Turing.

The articles are reviewed if they deal with a topic in relation with at least one of the following three areas:

  1. History of Science: Turing's work in the history of mathematical logic
  2. Philosophy of Logic: Turing's work from a philosophical point of view
  3. Mathematical logic, computer science: The current influence of Turing on mathematical logic.


Manuscripts should be submitted in English or French, and prepared for anonymous peer review. Abstracts in French and English (200-300 words) should be included.

The area (1, 2 or 3) of the topic dealt by the paper must be indicated in the keywords section.

Philosophia Scientiae is a peer-reviewed scientific journal. It publishes research relating to epistemology, history and philosophy of science, especially in the field of mathematics, physics, and logic, without excluding any other scientific field.
