Abstract: Some approaches to social epistemology treat the social dimension of knowledge as a (merely)  contingent feature of cognitive life.  This talk will argue that such an approach misses a deeper social dimension of our cognitive lives.  Critical contextual empiricism based in philosophy of science treats interaction as constitutive of human knowledge.
