Those interested in the symposium must prepare a paper for a presentation of no more than 20 minutes (3000 words aproximately) and submit it by March 1st 2019 to [email protected]. In your submission, please include the following information:
· Name
· Contact information (preferred email address)
· Institutional affiliation (if any)
· Abstract (max. 200 words)
Submissions must be prepared for anonymous review. Notifications of acceptance will be sent by April 1st. Papers may be both written and presented in any of the two official languages for the symposium, Spanish or English. Eventually, the organization might be able to cover travel expenses for at least one national and one international speaker, who will be selected on a competitive basis. This information will be provided in the notification of acceptance. Any proposal related to the subject of the symposium is welcome, but we specifically encourage submissions on the following themes:
· Nature and definition of political lying or political deception
· History, sociology and psychology of political lying and deception
· Post-Truth
· Nature and possible relationships among fiction, deception and politics
· Fake News, disinformation, misinformation
· Rhetorics and politics
· State lying and deception and state secrecy
· Truth in politics
· Manipulation and the re-writing of history
· Varieties of negationism
