Details

A worlkshop on what philosophers, following a seminal 1991 paper by Daniel Dennett, call the "real patterns" approach to the metaphysics of science.

The idea in this approach is that is that inductive potential is to be identified with the algorithmic compressibility of datasets, and that, furthermore, the ontological commitments of theorists should be with those aspects of dataset that are exploited by compression algorithms.
