The Centre for Philosophy, Politics and Economics at the University of Groningen in the Netherlands is giving its annual PPE Winter School on ‘‘Freedom, Norms and Democracy" on the 28th and 29th of January (more details below). All students interested in post-graduate study at the intersection between Philosophy, Politics and Economics are warmly invited to a series of lectures which will give participants a clear idea of what can be expected from such a course. The Winter School is open both to students specifically interested in the MSc in Philosophy, Politics and Economics (PPE) at Groningen (https://www.rug.nl/filosofie/ppe/master/), and to those considering study in related fields.

As is true for applicants for the MSc, the Winter School welcomes students with a wide range of backgrounds* and career interests.**

The Faculty of Philosophy is also offering up to three €200 scholarships for promising students enrolling in the Winter School who express serious interest in later applying for a Master’s programme in Groningen. Additionally, participants who are then accepted into a Master’s programme at the Faculty of Philosophy for the upcoming year (2019-2020) will have their registration fee for the Winter School reimbursed.

All details and instructions for applying are here: https://www.rug.nl/education/summer-winter-schools/winter_schools/winter-schools-2018-2019/freedom_norms_democracy/

* Applicants eligible for the PPE course include not only those with Bachelor’s degrees in philosophy, political science or economics, but also those with degrees in other neighbouring fields, such as international relations, history, sociology, or psychology, provided they demonstrate a sufficiently close fit with PPE or one of its subdisciplines.

**The PPE programme aims to equip students for work in a diverse range of organizations, including national or international public administrations, governmental and non‐governmental organizations, private businesses and banks, journalism, think tanks and research institutions.
